In the morning fly to a privately owned game sanctuary in Kenya’s wild and beautiful Laikipia district, north west of Mount Kenya. Laikipia is a plateau and the environment includes open grasslands, acacia bush, basalt hills, cedar forests and kopjes.

Because of the diverse range of habitats, Laikipia hosts an abundance of wildlife which is second only to the Maasai Mara in Kenya. It has significant populations of predators, as well as over 50% of Kenya’s black rhinos and white rhinos, thousands of elephants, about 25% of the world’s Grevy’s zebras, and an increasing population of wild dogs.
