OVERNIGHTS: MAASAI MARA

Fly to Nanyuki, where you will connect with the scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara. On landing you will be met and taken your camp.

Staying in a camp gives you the opportunity to experience the real Africa; days of breathtaking game viewing; evenings enjoying cocktails by a campfire and delicious three-course meals under an awe-inspiring velvet canopy of stars. Perhaps among other exciting wildlife sounds you will be lucky enough to hear the unforgettable roar of a lion proclaiming his territory!

The Maasai Mara is Africa’s greatest wildlife reserve with a dense population of predators, herbivores and birdlife. Open savannahs, rolling grassland and undulating hills are the backdrop for the splendour of the Maasai Mara. July to September is the time for the annual migration of the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania. Also regularly seen are elephant, leopard, lion, hyena, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes. Hippo and crocodile are abundant in the Mara River. Black rhino are harder to spot but are occasionally seen at a distance.

Visitors can also catch a glimpse of the traditional Maasai culture. A proud and nomadic people, the Maasai have lived in harmony with nature for centuries.
